Abstract: The Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind was a sheltered workshop that operated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1874–1978. During the Vietnam War Period, the Working Home’s production included some 4 million M8A1 Scabbards assembled 1965–70. This article documents the corporate names used by the Working Home and clarifies government inconsistencies that led to concurrent use of multiple contractor identities for this producer. The article documents the Working Home’s manufacturing process and staffing model for M8A1 Scabbard production. Issue: Volume 91, Spring 2015 |
